Wabash Meteor Ride Saturday, August 13th & 14th

This Saturday is the 10th Annual Wabash Meteor Ride & Campout.  The ride begins at the Wabash Trace Trailhead in Council Bluffs and this year will end up at Sportsman’s Park in Shenandoah (44 miles).   Camping and showers at the pool are available there, or individuals can make their own hotel reservations if they would prefer.  The registration fee for the ride $40) includes transportation of camping gear from Council Bluffs to Shenandoah on Saturday and back to Council Bluffs on Sunday, a pool pass, supper at the Wabash Winery (with live music entertainment), Breakfast coupon to the Depot Deli,  a Wabash Trace Slap Koozie and more!  Although registration at the Trailhead is only from 8 to 10 on Saturday, the ride is ridden entirely at your own pace – so stop and enjoy all of the towns along the way!  After the supper and live music at the Wabash Winery, and maybe a cold microbrew at the Depot, you can ride out to the Nishnabotna Bridge North of Shenandoah to view the Perseid Meteor Shower (bring lights!).  For more information visit www.wabashtrace.org or check out the post on www.bikeiowa.com for the ride.
