Wabash Warm-Up June 4th

Spring is here!  Which means it is time to get the bikes out of the garage and ready to ride!  This year we will again be holding the Wabash Warm-Up on Saturday, June 4th.  This ride is in celebration of National Trails Day and our wonderful Wabash Trace. We will start at The Classic Cafe in Malvern, with coffee, mimosas, bloody marys, and breakfast pastries. Proceeding down the Trace, we will have stops at most of the bridges where there will be live music, refreshing beverages, and a good time in general. The Morrison bridge just North of Imogene will also have food at their stop. Continuing down the trail all the way to Shenandoah, where the evening will end with live entertainment at the Depot Deli. We have had great success the last 3 years, and hope to keep up the tradition!

As in the past, the ride starts in Malvern at the Classic Cafe at 10 AM.  A bus will be loading at 8:45 AM at the Depot Deli in Shenandoah to transport bicyclists from Shenandoah to Malvern.  If you are not an avid bicyclist, don’t be scared away!  The average length between stops is only 3 miles, and the Trace is almost flat.  The ride is ridden at your own pace, so you should not feel rushed!  Since this is a fundraiser for the Wabash Trace, we are asking a $10 donation for the ride.  Please also bring money to donate at the bridge breaks for refreshments and entertainment.  (and purchase a trail pass if you haven’t already)

We are hoping for a rain-free year, but in case of extremely wet trail conditions, we will work out an alternate route.  ALSO…we are still looking for sponsors and musicians! If your biking group, business, other organization, or just you and a few friends would like to sponsor a bridge just call or email Becca and we will let you know what it entails.  You can also view our post on bikeiowa.com :  http://www.bikeiowa.com/asp/calendar/RidePopUp.asp?e=5690
