Continue reading »]]> This Saturday marks the 6th Annual Wabash Warm-Up!  Again this year we will begin at 10 AM at the Classic Cafe in Malvern, and have 7 stops along the way to the Depot Deli in Shenandoah.  It is 22 miles – but with only about 3 miles between stops, don’t be scared off if you’re a novice cyclist!  There will be live music and cold beverages at each stop, thanks to our local musicians and bridge sponsors.  The cost for the ride is a $10 donation, plus please bring some money for tipping musicians and to donate for beverages.  The bus will be leaving the Depot at 8:45 Saturday Morning to take us up to Malvern.  If you have any questions, please email imogenesemeraldisle@gmail.com or call Becca at 712-386-2337.

3rd stop – Strahan with live music by Stephen Monroe, sponsored by Tri-Valley Bank
4th stop – Deer Creek Bridge with live music by Al Kelley, sponsored by Farm Service Company
5th stop – Waubonsie Bridge with live music by Jamie Hunt and Kyle Cullin, sponsored by Green Plains Renewable Energy & Turnbull Child Development Center
6th stop – Morrison Bridge with live music by Eric Nelson, sponsored by Morrison Family & Friends
7th stop – Walnut Creek Bridge, BYOM (bring your own music!)

Continue reading »]]> Thanks to everyone who participated in the Wabash Warm-Up this year, either by sponsoring a bridge, sharing your musical talents, organizing the ribbon-cutting, or riding with us!  I feel that it was a great success.  This, our 5th year, was our largest turnout since we began the ride in 2007.  We were able to raise some much-needed money for maintenance on the Wabash Trace, while having a great time doing it.  We were lucky to have special guests Chuck & Carla Offenburger down to ride with us also, and Chuck did a nice spot documenting the ribbon-cutting and the ride on his website.  To check it out go to www.offenburger.com and look for the photos from the ride on the left.
